It seems that @John M BUNMAN is slacking on trip reports so I’ll try to pick up the slack. I’m in St George for a bit so I decided to take a run to Toroweap Overlook. Southern Utah has been hit with a few recent storms so I was a bit worried about mud. Turns out, I had no need to worry, there was plenty of it. Head out of Hurricane and head to Colorado City on the asphalt. Turn right and go south, follow the dirt road till you come to a big drop off…haha

Sun was not cooperating for pictures in the canyon. These are the crappy views I hadD8C40278-8703-4E2A-9935-84E81DC157C0.jpegCF94E761-B148-4150-BE3B-E00E02801257.jpeg6DAF9889-DBEE-471E-8781-D50569EF273F.jpegDD39E3AD-A823-4494-8E7F-C96242587011.jpeg318749CE-FBCC-4178-B859-F0A7E95D3DC0.jpeg

Outstanding as Always.
One of my favorite trips out there. You must have gotten an early start, that’s an all day adventure. I wish I could have gone there with you, soon hopefully.
Thanks for sharing, we just took the hounds out for a bit this afternoon.

I understand the mud fear heading down to the rim, it’s like GA clay when it gets wet. I was out there one Christmas and spent the night on the Rim…total Solitude:) I didn’t think I was going to make it out. It snowed about 3” overnight. I woke up and it was still snowing, I had those worthless KO’2’s, worthless in mud at least. I was using the cattle guards to clean the treads :( on the way down, they were like Racing Slicks. Somehow I made it back to Kanab. 172EAE1C-C4D6-410A-A623-F9326E7BA87C.jpegC24A3133-C7E1-4877-98B8-476EFAD94E9E.jpegA31CFAB8-9233-4772-B37B-FDAE070D2045.jpeg92E79AC8-2987-41D2-AE9E-40DBF8E9FFFB.jpeg7BB24D6D-35DC-4AB3-8D04-F73B53176068.jpeg

Sounds good John. Just waiting for you! I just spent $22 at the car wash and only got half of the mud off. Worth every penny. Think we may try S B Point on Sunday

Apparently there was a change implemented a few months ago you now need a “day use pass” purchased online for $2. I guess they only let 16 or so vehicles go in a day. As you know, there is no cell phone service so I’m not sure how they are going to handle that in the years to come
