My power fold mirrors are acting up, especially the driver's side. They reach the full open and close positions at different times, and randomly the passenger side mirror will not open. The driver's side mirror also sits a little past the detent when opened, and it is noticeable because it doesn't align properly with the base.

I followed Ford's realignment procedure by opening and closing them three times after manually folding them in from the out position. Any suggestions? On my last F-150, the mirrors started acting up when the battery was close to the end of its life, but that wouldn't explain the misalignment on the driver's side.

Thanks.

Have you washed it lately? Mine have only ever acted up in winter when the ice gets into the joint and restricts motion.

Yes, it gets washed every other week. I checked the joint and nothing is there. Thanks for the suggestion.

So mines open and close at different times. I thought it was strange at first and ignored it. I didn’t know it was an issue…now you have me curious. I’m going to try the realignment procedure and see if that fixes my issue.

It’s normal for them to open close at slightly different rates; it’s in the Owners Manual. As far as a mirror not operating or overextending, start with scanning for DTCs in the DDM and PDM.

I have an add on question to this. My mirrors would fold in when I locked the truck, like I want them too. Then it just stopped. Setting is still set for them to fold in. When I push the button they fold in and out fine. Just won’t automatically do it anymore. Dealer has zero ideas why. Any thoughts?

Trespass on to another FRF thread with your own issue.

You’re talking about Lincoln Fold Mirrors, which is not a factory default. It can be configured via Ford service tool, I think it’s referred to as IDS(?) or via FORSCAN - see https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/forscan-changes-tweak-your-truck.52149/

Did you have a module replaced or service work done to the truck? If one of the affected modules was zapped that would disable the feature.
Also: Pictures. Or it’s really a prius :p

Sorry. Didn’t mean to trespass. Just didn’t want to come out swinging with a new thread for no reason.
With the Gen 3 it’s in the driver settings to fold in on lock.
I had my windows tinted. That’s all I’ve had done. Only had it for a week. Nothing else done. I did take it to the dealer to see if they could figure it out. No other service work performed.

N/P. It’s still a prius (no pic) but thanks for the correction. I was unaware the Gucci Raptors had the Lincoln Fold Mirrors.
Any DTC - you can read / clear with FORSCAN ?

Took it back to the dealer in the first week for folding mirror setting? Wait till you smell water in the carpets or the transmission starts slamming gears. Better get you a cot around back.

(I’m joking with you, Raptors definitely have quirks but not as many as the ford dealerships themselves.)
