Hey everyone.
I would love to hear some idea's on some new parts for your Raptor. What do want? What do you wish was better?
I have heard about the issue with the Wheel Speed Sensor. So I am making a very easy to install bolt on sheild for it to protect your truck from having this problem.
To fix it, Big J spend $250.
That sucks! That was $250 towards a bumper. right big j????
Anyways, what can I do to help the Raptor be a little better?

No idea is a bad idea so let the fly....

Sweet! (And yeah you got that right Ryan. The $$ sucked, but the need to bail off the trail, and subsequent two days of downtime sucked even more! Bring on those shields!)

Suggestions:
1) Replacement shields for the rear Fox shocks. Something NOT made of plastic, that WONT chip/crack/flake away after an impact
2) Rear diff slider/shield.

Some more/better skid plates under the beast...the Ford ones are a little cheesy.
That's a good point. Given the (crazy) price of the "upgraded" Ford OEM front skid plate, maybe there's an opportunity to make a REAL plate for the same $$ (or maybe even less)? For those that don't want to/can't afford/can't justify a full on replacement bumper?

Skid Plates.

While on that topic, can I see some side shots of the skid plate angle of the one that is integrated into your pre-runner bumper. For instance, if you look sideways at the OEM skid plate, you can see a large amount of space (or a gap) behind the skid plate which I think significantly decreases the approach angle. I would like to see the difference.

Thanks a ton in advance, FFS

Thanks for asking for our input. This is a great topic - we've covered some of these before (like in the "what would you tell Ford" thread, etc.). My input:

* Skid plates - the truck is essentially unprotected from below. I don't think we need full underside protection but there are certainly some areas that need protection and I suggest you prioritize them and offer skid plates for those areas that can be added as owners' budgets and priorities allow.

* Front skid plate - BigJ hit the nail on the head - why spend money on a replacement from Ford that is no better than the one that came with the vehicle?

* Rear diff protection - Something that actually works. There are many designs out there (http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-US&rlz=1I7DKUS_en&biw=1655&bih=799&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=rear+differential+skid+plate&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=) some are good and many are not. Offer us a good one.

* Removable bed rack - There are two options here (at least) - one would go inside the bed and could hold spare tires and gas cans, etc. The one I'd like to see is one that goes over a bed cover that mounts through the bed rails (through the plastic covers or, better yet, inside the bed and wraps around so it's mounted inside while allowing a bed cover to be used). I'd like to be able to mount a spare tire or two flat on a tubular removable rack that's just above my bed cover (BakFlip). You also could select a high quality gas can (plastic or metal) that is CARB (California) compliant and make a gas can rack that goes in the bed (perhaps just behind the cab on the floor).

* Swing-away Spare Tire/Gas Cans/Hi-Lift Jack rack - Not like the "tire gate" product, this one would allow the tailgate to be used (and even allow the camera to see out if that's possible) while mounting a spare tire, gas can and a Hi-Lift jack. These things are made for Jeeps (see pic below) and given the width of the Raptor there's more design flexibility.

* Removable roof rack - Something that doesn't require drilling. (This may already be available for the F-150 from rack makers).

* Rack for behind the cab - Could be used for mounting lights over top of the cab as well as to the sides and back. Also could mount up a Hi-Lift Jack, etc. This could also be integrated with the on-the-floor gas can rack I mentioned above.

Agreed!
Better, more robust skid plates would be nice & rear diff protection & replacement shields for rear shocks like Big J mentioned.
