I forget who it was, one of the regulars in here recommended it, and said he's been using it for several years with good success. This winter is my first time using it. I sprayed it on quite a few things in the engine compartment.
For undercarriage I would use WoolWax, it's the newer version of FluidFilm.

Sorry, never saw your post. What Mr. **** said. I sprayed everything except the foam engine cover. 2 light coats on the battery, and 1 light coat on everything else. It ends up looking pretty much like you sprayed it with silicone.
