GEN 2 Woolwax/Fluid film DIY

I did fluid film before I went to visit my Northern Idaho house this winter. The stuff is amazing. I guess it will have to melt off in SoCal during the summer, its still super thick. Good stuff

I've woolwaxed my last raptor and my current one. The black looks fantastic. From more than a couple feet away laying on the ground you can hardly tell it's even there and even after a typical salt filled garbage Michigan winter there's not a spec of rust on the underside of my truck.

It never fully hardens, but can be wiped off at any time so don't wear nice clothes when you apply it or any time you're under the truck to work on it.

I used NH oil undercoat on my truck. I used the black tint on the entire underbody except for the control arms, springs and shocks where I used the clear instead. Couldn’t be happier with the product.

Fluid film or lanolin oil what it’s made from is used in the marine industry on everything from spraying into electric motors, electrical terminal strips to a preservative for external metal engine parts. It’s very long lasting if not exposed to direct uv. As an under coat it’s phenomenal for autos

I just finished my first winter with the Woolwax. I had a shop do it, seems to have worked really well as we had a salty crap filled winter. The only downside is it's a holy mess if you have to work up under the truck because it never dries. I will happily put up with that though, as hopefully I'm done working on anything for a while except oil changes.

I had Krown done on my car and it’s the same - oily mess if you gotta work on it.
I guess that’s better than rusted out bolts.

That's exactly what I thought, yes it's a mess, but better than rusty crap.

Last week I ordered a case of Woolwax from Amazon and it arrived the next day.
Today I applied it. Came with a trigger handle attachment and a long flexible wand that sprays 360 degrees.
I only used 4 cans. No need to recoat areas that did not get washed off.
Put the truck up on ramps for better access.
Next time I'm going to wear throw away overalls with hoodie and gloves.
Got a couple more cars to do in the near future.
