I ordered my Raptor on Valentines Day and the dealer said it should arrive in 8-10 weeks. Now after reading about others wait times I'm wondering if it could end up being more like 4-6 months.? I can't wait that long as 3 months was going to be hard. What kind of wait times have others had?

We waited 5 months for our 2012. Wait time has alot of variables, Dealer allocation...luck...etc Some have gotten it that fast, others haven't. Some have taken a month or more just for delivery. If you need it now, then I suggest you pay the premium to get one off of a lot.

BTW, we were also told 8 week max, came very close to canceling and ended up with a few goodies thrown in at the end.

I am one that the dealer told me up front that it could be 4 to 6 months so I knew what I "might" be into before committing. Mine got built in 10 weeks and so far I've been waiting 2 weeks now for it to be delivered. And the hard part is, I have no idea how long I have to continue to wait. The dealer and SVT/Ford Service doesn't know either.

If you paid MSRP on your current order (no idea what kind of deal you made), I would cancel and find one on a lot that matches as close as you like where a reasonable dealer is at least only selling it at MSRP and get it now. Otherwise if you got it closer to invoice, the wait is going to be hard as you stated. If I was in your shoes depending on your deal, I would not cancel the order and start looking for a lot Raptor as long as you didn't put down a deposit or it's refundable. My deposit was non-refundable.

Good luck on your quest. I spent my time waiting checking out all the mods and buying some.

I got a variety of answers depending on the dealer. Luckily for me, I found the EXACT truck I wanted that was already being built and was not already spoken for. So, my 8-10 weeks or 4-6 months went down to... 2 weeks :)

Thanks for the replies and I didn't put down a deposit. Problem is the dealer is a neighbor and gave me a good deal imo on the truck but I hate to back out as he may get ticked and I have to live by him. I have already looked around and I couldn't find a truck with the options I want on the lot anywhere close by. Also, all the other dealers in the area wanted about $3-4k more to order the truck. I guess I will just grit my teeth and wait and see what happens and if 10 weeks go by and no build date announced by then I could decide what to do.

My guess would be if you were told 8-10 weeks he had an allocation for your truck. Normally 4 weeks for Ford to pull the order. Another 4 for the completed build and delivery varies greatly. Some are getting them in a week in my case it was an additional four weeks for final delivery. Good luck, hang in there. It is definitely worth the wait. This truck is full of awesomeness!!!

If he is a good friend and neighbor then one wouldn't think he would intentionally mis-lead you....
