I am trying to install a Pace Edwards Powergate and the instructions indicate the wire colors for the ones I need to tap into are blue w/ green and gray w/ brown and are located in the driver's side kick panel. I could locate the gray one, but not the blue w/ green. Is it possible that the lock/unlock wire colors might be different for a vehicle equipped with keyless entry, or am I just blind? Neither scenario would surprise me.

Your instructions are incorrect. The wire colors for the power door locks are gray/yellow for unlock and violet/gray for lock.

I think the only place to find these two wires is going from the door(s) into the Smart Junction Box in the passenger footwell area. I haven't found these wires in the wire bundles in the wire troughs under the plastic treadplate (below the doors on both sides of the truck).

Here's a wiring diagram confirming FSM's wire colors.

The issue is with the SuperCab truck: no door lock/unlock wires go to the back doors (not needed) so the wires are not accessible (not that I've found) in the wire bundles in the channels under the footplates (under the doors). This won't be an issue with the SuperCrew trucks since they have door lock/unlock buttons in the back doors.

Please post up what you do to access these wires.

I have the DynoLock tailgate kit (very complete kit) which I've installed but I haven't made the final connections due to this wire issue (accessing the two wires).

MMD,
I located one of the two recommended wires in a wire bundle next to the emergency brake pedal. What color wires did the Dynolock product tell you to look for?

FM06, do you know where those wires are located? Thanks in advance.

In regard to the wire colors, FSM is correct and it's verified in the wiring diagram above.

The wire colors for the power door locks are gray/yellow for unlock and violet/gray for lock.

If you find one wire you should find the other (wherever they are they should be together). The above wiring diagram shows the wires going into/out of the Smart Junction Box. But I haven't found an easy way to access them.

lutt, the gray/yellow wire is easily accessed at the left footwell near the park brake pedal as it has been "looped out" for a remote start installation where the door lock input is needed. I have not had to access the violet/gray wire for unlock but know that it has to travel through the A-pillar to the left front door so should be in the same area. If I get a chance tomorrow, I will pull the left kick panel and see if I can help you find an access point.

FSM, if you can help him/us I would be very grateful as I've installed my DynoLock tailgate lock and it's ready-to-go except for the last wire connection.

I really appreciate your help with this and I'll pay extra thanks for pics!

I'm not in a hurry since I installed mine weeks ago :)

FSM, you're a great American. I'm at the same installation stage as MMD, and I echo his appreciation for your willingness to help us out. Thanks again.
