I've ordered the cylinder head from Tasca as well as new oem valves and springs. I also got an oem head gasket. I did order a couple retainers and keepers in case some go into orbit but I intend to reuse the ones I have. I also sent ETA another email about all this. I will let everyone know how everything goes.

Jeez, I feel bad for you Valky, what a **** show. I'm not a car/truck engine expert, but I am pretty good with bike engines. I can't believe a shop re-used that head. I used to worry about the finish texture on a head, let alone use one all gouged up like you banged around the head with a chisel with your eyes closed! That's crazy. That shop should be responsible for doing ridiculously poor work. I hope you end up getting out of this without getting screwed too hard.

Machine/engine shop could’ve made better than new, but that’s not the point

@Valky any update? Did your new head show up? Pics?
New head arrived today! Tasca sent me an email and said the part I ordered didn't correspond with my VIN. They suggested another part number but said it would be on backorder with no ETA and asked if I wanted that one or if I'd like the original part I chose. After looking up both part numbers it seemed to just be a newer part number so I told them to send the original one I ordered. It just showed up half an hour ago and looks perfectly identical to mine. Man does it look nice. I've never seen a new cylinder head before. Now I'll be waiting on the new valves and such to show up but they haven't shipped yet. Tasca wanted me to change the part number for the valve keepers which seems to be whats keeping that one on hold. But fingers crossed I will have everything soon!20211215_195021.jpg 20211215_194752.jpg

Tasca did the same for me, I ordered 16 valve springs, seals, and 4 retainers just in case I lost one. Put in my VIN, they emailed and said it was like $1.06 for the "right" part number retainer, I looked up the part number and it was a set of 16 so I'm like, giddyup. What showed up was a set of 2 (where I had ordered individual halves I guess). It looks like the right retainer at least, but doesn't look any different than what I ordered originally.

Anyway, head looks awesome, hope you get it back together soon!
