I am surprised at you. As a member of the military you should instinctively and immediately grasp this. The United States of America is second to none in the world and as the lesser bows to the greater and as the American President is the symbol of America, he should bow to no one.

If you still don't get it, the next time you are introduced to a senior officer ask him why he didn't bow to you. Perhaps he will be able to explain it to you better than I have.

I'm just trying to figure out why such a trivial action, having no tangible impact on your life, has triggered such an adverse emotional response in an otherwise rational and intelligent adult. My hope is that, true to your word, you really do hold the office of the president in such high esteem that you are personally offended by any such sleights and feel compelled to remark on them likewise; however, given your deflection of a significantly more recent and relevant transgression, I suspect you may be the one playing politics here.
