Just pulled a p0128 code

*thermostat code....probably from running the 160 unit that came with the kit....changing it out for the stock unit.

DO NOT take the thermsotat out, have them turn the code off. The cooler the engine is, the more power that can be made. Putting stock stat in can raise engine temps 20-30deg F which is equal too 2 deg's in timing.

It sounds like you have a leak, if you take the SC off, check the oring. Its key to put a lot of grease on the orings so they don't move when sliding the sc on.

If surging was on the highway, constant throttle, we can put a restrictor in the bypass line to slow its movement a little. I've come across this in a few.

the exhaust is all SW including cats...as far as the tune goes im dealing with jon lund directly. The combo that the truck has is a 3.375 pulley on the whipple and the full exhaust and thats it. As far as the short trims go they are very close together yes. I didn't wanna call whipple simply because i can manage on my own for the most part and i was confident i had a leak somewhere....turns out that two of the orings on the lower intake were damaged...they looked melted and the oring that goes under the blower had a flat spot that looks like it wasn't sealing also...so I'm pretty sure thats where the problem lies for now. Btw im keeping the stock thermostat for now, wondering if that had anything to do with the damaged orings.

i dont think i can use a smaller pulley on the supercharger with their tune...thats why i went the route i did....i was wanting to go built but the issue i have now is keeping me busy enough....lol

You can certainly run smaller pulleys with the stock tunes.....

Thermostat would have nothing to do with damaged orings. Thats from them moving during installation.

how do i get ahold of this restrictor...i was noticing that the bypass actuator has a bit of play on the bracket its bolted to...the actuator on my lightning whipple has no play. Do you have a direct email i can reach you at that way i know who im speaking too.. i have the supercharger off now and wanna get some new o rings for it...as far as them being in place tho they were all in place none were rolled out or outside the groove.

How is it going superchargedv8, did you get all your parts and answers?

i did get the items from whipple( Thank's Dustin & Mike) havent been able to put that restrictor on but i did remove and replace the whipple and im pretty positive i dont have a leak. I still have the surging problem tho.

The Ford tech that did mine removed the tape from the plug and removed the insulation from that wire about an inch or two away from the plug and soldered the wires together and taped everything back up.
From doing so many Mustangs he has found this is the way to go.

thats exactly was i was/am going to do..

**done** still have the same issue changed nothing.

any updates with your surging problem? From experience in Turbos and superchargers the surging might be a spark plug problem! Also I like the kit and just debating either rush or whipple but need to have warranty...lol

it is still there but not as much as it was before since i installed a restrictor....it happens on acceleration only and at around the 2500rpm mark only
