Guys,
I live in South Texas--It does not rain here often. That said, I recently purchased and installed a Bak Flip Fibermax bed cover on my 2013 Raptor--Thanks Morrie!

As most of you know, most of the Bak Flip covers come with drains tubes to drain any precipitation out of the bed of the truck. The recommended way to drain said water is to drill a 3/4" hole in the "bed plug covers" (the plastic ovals on the front wall of the bed). Im fine with doing that, but Im wondering, first, where can I find replacement "bed plug covers" other than my stealership, and second, has anyone come up with a good alternative? I saw some on Ebay for $15 a piece--seems steep.

The only other option I came up with is to not use the drain tubes and risk having water get into my bed. I have a spray-in liner, but the front drains against the front wall of the bed are still open. Im wondering if that will be enough drainage as I have had a hard time finding replacement "bed plug covers" if I ever wanted to remove the Bak Flip and not have holes in the bed. Thoughts?

I have the bakflip hd and just today i was pressure washing my bed cover because it got a bunch of crap on it from sitting under a damn tree for several days in a row. I did not install the tubes for the drains, because they rhinoed my bed before i could, and i will tell you i got 0 water inside my bed....

I keep my golf clubs and golf shoes back there and never have any issue with water

I had the Ford dealer-installed version complete with drain tubes - but they never get used. It stays dry under there! Skip that step until you try it out for yourself. You likely don't need it. Take to a self carwash and do a thorough spray from all angles. Then dry the exterior and have a look in there. You might be surprised. Let us know!

Sprayed her down today from all around--no issues. I had the drain tubes hooked up and just left them hanging toward the front bed drains that are built in. I even parked front down so any water would drain into the bed vs out of the tailgate. No water under the cover--I like the idea of the drains, but it seems to me Bak engineered the drains as an option just in case---I think Ill go without unless I have any issues in the future.

Thanks

hate to reply to my own post....but almost one month of driving and no issues without plumbing the drain tubes. Driven through the rare south Texas rain and a few high-pressure car washes without issue. No water in the drain tubes nor any water in the bed.
