When are next year's Raptors normally available.

I currently have a 2020 Raptor on order (have VIN number but it didn't get scheduled before the plants closed.) With Ford now saying that the plants will not be opened until May at the earliest the question is should I wait for the 2021. Part of the decision process for me is when would the new Raptors normally become available. In the past when has the new year models normally become available? Be safe.

The shift in model years usually occurs in September/early October. I don't know if this will be impacted by the covid situation.

2020 will be the last 2nd Gen Raptor year.

Gen 1's stopped production due to a generational change in the F150. The next generational change appears to be next year, so I would think there is at least a reasonable chance of 2020 being the last year of the Gen 2 raptor.

for the gen 1, the order banks opened in august. first trucks arrived end of october. i ordered both my trucks in august (2012 and 2013) and the both arrived in november (2012 and 2013)

Not sure exactly, hopefully OP will clarify, but OP asks in context of the plants being closed, should he wait for a 2021 MY, so, based on that, I'd say no, because either the 2020 MY will be the last Raptor (and last MY for 13th Gen F150 based on gen change for MY 2021), or also, because if its the same generation in MY 2021, then why wait, there will most likely be zero significant changes, if any at all.

Or the question is based on when the new generation of Raptors will come about, if 2021 is new F-150 Generation, I'm guessing 2023 MY for availability in Q4 of 2022. I'm no insider, so Ford could have a Raptor ready for first MY of Gen 14 in 2021, but I don't think this is the typical progression for "high performance" variants.

i am also waiting on a 2020 ordered two weeks ago. Where did you hear that the plant is closed? I hadn’t heard this but I’ve had no contact with the dealership.

I talked to the head of the dealership chain and he said he was in a meeting at Ford HQ where they announced there would be no 2021MY Raptor. I asked for them to let me upgrade to a 2021 for free if this changed and he a

He said that once they go to a new gen design, it takes a couple of years (as we saw in 2015) for the Raptor version to be released.

I ordered my 20 last September 2nd, picked it up on Thanksgiving

Over on the Super Duty Forums, the guys there are saying whenever the Plants get reopened, whatever trucks are currently on the line, in the middle of being built, will get finished. No "New Unassembled" 2020's will be started, and 2021 production will start.

So basically, whatever 2020's are on the line already will be completed, when those are done, they'll jump right into assembling 2021's.
