What's up with Gen 2 prices recently?

Everyone is in a different state of "need" for vehicles. To just spurt out "wait, now is not a good time" is great advice, but for some that's not an option.

Some guys may have had their old truck stolen, wrecked, burned to the ground, lost in a divorce or some combination of all of that.

Some guys are just rich enough that they don't care what the number for the truck really is- but they want to pay as little as possible just like anyone else.

Update:

Ended up getting the one I mentioned above this past Thursday. 2019 Loaded Ruby Red with under 7200 miles for $69,500. Was 74k around March 23rd. They had just dropped the price a week prior, then again on Thursday when they called me. I probably would have paid more if they just would have worked with me (in the earlier stages) when I was saying the price was too high. Now I really don't understand the "no haggle" model, but it the end it worked out for me.

Congrats! Looks very clean. That's similar to how I got mine - I test drove the truck before they even had pics of it online. Made an offer and they said no way. I walked away and sure enough they called me every couple days dropping the price more and more. I made an offer lower then my original one and they finally accepted it almost a month after my original test drive.

saying now isn't a good time is simply how it is.

now is a sh-i-t-t-y time to buy cars, no matter what it is or how much money you have.

people don't get or stay rich by paying too much for everything.

I tried selling my ‘19 through Carvana. It has the 802a luxury package, with only 41,000 and they only offered $51,000. Seems a bit low to me ‍

Same with my 18, at the time I had 45k on the clock and it was 46k something. I know I could get at least 60 for it Private party. I have 49k on it now and still could get 60. I wouldn't know what to replace it with so not gonna try it.

there is also a difference between what is being asked for a truck and what is actually paid.

I also think the market already peaked.

Very True, but I think easiest way to tell is to do analysis on average sit time of a truck on lot compared to asking price and see which move faster due to aggressive pricing and which move slower due to extremely wishful thinking type prices. Could give you a base line to work with.
