I am on the 3rd set of bearings, none of them had too much wear, but I change them every so often like shock rebuild or revlaving for the exact reasons you posted.As far as rev 2, I would love to use a tapered like you posted, but this G2 shock fussin about is done on my truck... except I keep messing with valveing but really Rev 2 will never happen for me the bearings are afordable so they just get consumed when convenient.
