i was lazy when i changed my oil because none of my torx fit and the bolts were pretty rusted so i just reached down over the radiator with a filter tool ! getting it back on was a pain...

Anyone know what the P/N is for the skid plate oil filter access panel bolts? They are T40 I think. I'm missing one and the ford dealer can't find it. I really don't want to use a regular M8x1.25 bolt from the hardware store.

Thanks,

AB

The Raptor is high enough and if you turn the wheels all the way to the left you can access everything from the front drivers side. Oil filter, drip pan is right there and if you place a small aluminum pan on top of the drip pan there's no need for cleanup.
Why would you waste the time to remove stuff?
Well I actually remove the oil filter from the top i just lay a small blanket over the radiator and use my little step ladder for washing the truck.
Loosening bolts all the time IMO is not a good idea.

It's not that the dealer can't find you one, it's because they don't want to open up a bag for one bolt. Dealers would have to buy like a 20 count bag for stupid money and then it would sit on their shelve as lost inventory.
I went through this my self, I wound up buying a bolt from an online Canadian bolt manufacture. If I find my receipt I post up the website.

Have you tried Ford Racing Parts?

Okay. I did look on fordparts but not ford racing parts. Thinking about just using a stainless low profile socket head screw from mcmaster. I think it will be recessed enough not to get too messed up. I just hate hex key screws because they tend to strip. What do you guys think? I could also go with the higher strength carbon steel kind but I'm a little worried about corrosion with the black finish.
