I’ve posted pics of my C5Z before, but since I just clay barred it, cut buffed polished & waxed….figured why not show it off, usually hide my plate, but eh…why not?

‘20 Raptor
‘03 C5Z crazy built 718whp
‘19 MDX (wife)
‘19 Yamaha VX cruiser HO
‘21 Yamaha FX SVHO
‘01 Polaris Xplorer 400
‘03 Yamaha Raptor 80cc (sons toy)

In case you’re wondering garage is a tandem 20’x44’ can easily fit Raptor & Vette, but mainly vette & quads stay there, the waverunners I store @ my sisters detached garage/barn she doesn’t use for winter, during summer stay at beach house…or sometimes in garage/driveway

I find it amusing I’ve been on many car forums over the years & BY FAR Raptor owners have the best taste in vehicles/toys & seem to be more appreciative of all Motorsport stuff not just brand loyal etc
How do you like the SVHO? I went with an RXTX and really like it but want to add another ski to the stable and I wouldn't mind changing it up.

The VX cruiser HO has 190hp (which is still extremely powerful for a light-ish N/A machine- it tops out @ 63mph in ideal conditions stock) but I use these in buzzards bay/cape cod 2/3 of the time & in freshwater lakes the rest of the time. The VX hull can handle some ocean chop, but it’s def more picky about the speed & trim- & w/ the cruiser HO there’s no trim adjustment vs the GP 1800 that does offer that.

The FX SVHO has 250hp w/ the blower & while the added power is nice it isn’t as dramatic a difference as you’d think between the VX HO due to weight & drag, it tops out 70-ish- all that being said it’s the larger/deeper hull design & auto trim adjustment that I especially like w/ it & makes it more stable & better @ speed in open ocean. If you can swing it I’d go for an FX & while I haven’t had the chance to ride a base FX w/ the same n/a 1800cc HO engine that I have in the VX, I’m sure the thing still moves just fine despite being like 150 lbs heavier.

I have the recdeck option w/ the locking chair on the SVHO & my son sits there & fishes off the back catching stripers lol

Still, The VX cruiser HO is probably the best bang for the buck overall, & I’m sure that’s why it’s the best selling model.

The smaller budget ones or the VX’s w/ the non-HO motor you def would get bored or find them less fun in bigger water but they serve a purpose & are quite fun too in their own way (tricks etc)

Thanks for the input.

I want to pick up another ski for when friends or family are in. I had a deposit on an SXR 1500, but that fell through when the dealer decided to play games.

My main dilemma is on one hand I want to get something completely different because why get two of the same? On the other hand I don't want to have a ski that does 80 and can go out on the ocean and another that can only do 50 and is a small lake ski. GP1800R or an RXPX Apex are on my radar too.

The GP1800 or the VX Cruiser HO or a base non-supercharged FX are all good choices
