If that were the case, then I would guess that only the hairdresser.....I mean mechanic, knows for sure.

I would think that they would keep debris out of those spaces.

I installed mine during the summer months and then used a waterproof sealant. I also installed mine new costed the inside with Nylalic https://www.nyalic.com/Nyalic-12-oz-Aerosol-can-_p_131.html
