What did you do to your Raptor today? (Gen2)

Wow... I was finally able to get my Raptor up into the mountains today. I have to say I am surprised at how well the Raptor handles the forest service roads outside of Seattle. They are known for their huge potholes that can be kind of uncomfortable to drive. I've driven on these roads with my Colorado ZR2, Jeep, Suburban, F-150 Limited and Lexus LX570 and I have to say the Raptor handled these potholes as if they weren't even there - there was a substantial difference. My wife had pretty much given up on off-road due to the rough ride, today she reluctantly came and even said that it wasn't that bad to be off-road in the Raptor and hitting all those potholes. I'm impressed by the suspension - even my ZR2 was super rough. The Raptor is a great truck.

A lot of times I like to puff the chest on how well the Raptor is off-road, & it is awesome, BUT…throw 35”-37” tires w/ 6” of sidewall on ANY 4x4 vehicle & its gonna shrug off potholes like nothing

Swapped the factory rear diff fluid for some Amsoil 75w90 synthetic & a ford performance diff cover along w/ a lube locker gasket. Gave the cover (& the fancy nameplate) a couple coats of yamashield protectant spray to help keep the road brine from chewing it up.

My 2020 has just under 42k miles the stock fluid was pitch black & smelled like a camel’s taint

When it hits 50k I’m taking it for the first trip to the dealer have em change the front diff & T-case fluid (more work than I feel like doing myself)

I don't disagree, I know the tires and small wheels have a lot to do with it, but I have previously owned a Chevy Colorado ZR2 and a 2018 Jeep JLUR and those were just an order of magnitude more rough. The ZR2 in comparison I would have thought would have been a lot better. It had those trick Multimatic shocks. The Jeep, well, it was a Jeep. Hated that vehicle so much I sold it after only 10 months. The Raptor is really good - game changer good. I actually think I can get my wife to go with me now. Can't wait till the snow melts off and I can get out there.

I guess the key difference is the Raptor has the 35's. Pretty much you will be cutting and doing some serious body work to most any other vehicle out there to stuff 35's under them.

Coming from a '18 Wrangler with 35s, 3.5" lift and full SteerSmarts Yeti steering setup, I can honestly say the difference between it and the stock Raptor is night and day. Tons of fun, but the Jeep was one of the harshest riding 4x4 vehicles I have ever owned, 35s or not. IMG_5188.jpeg

imo t-case is the easiest to do, front diff isnt bad either.
Also odd, my rear diff has been pretty clear when i changed it, but my tcase was pitch black though before 40k.

I was also lookin at the amsoil gear oil, but doesnt that stuff have friction modifier in it? Afaik the gen 2s dont need it, is it bad to have it in there?
