$2000. Bought it from 4dtech.com. Wanted to stay OEM and liked the functionality. Kicker upgrades this weekend.

How hard was the swap I have thought about this a couple times. Also any functionality loss or options that don't do anything when pressed due to differences in generations?

It took about 1.5 hours. Their website has a video on the swap. I watched that and did mine. They say 25 minutes. BS. The reason mine took longer:

1) Our interior trim is different, so I had to pull a few pieces to get like the upfitter switch box to get my hands in there.
2) Screw sizes were diff. They said 7mm and it was 10mm. Didn't delay me, but was scratching my head over it.
3) I dropped a screw and had to fish it out with the magnet.
4) I was in my garage, and my fridge was stocked with Negra Modelos.

That said, it was basic. I was just slow so I wouldn't f up the trim pieces. No loss of functionality at all other than the Vehicle Health Report. Ford finally realized it was useless, so they dropped that, I guess. Steering wheel controls all work, Apple Car Play works, and I sent a few texts using the system. That was slick.

It is also really responsive.

Thanks @Bar yeah we have the Sync 3 in my wife's Explore and it's nice and responsive. Losing the wallpaper background on home screen sucks but the update is a good trade off.

Went to put my oe heavy duty pads (brsd-1414) in and the stockers were still at least 50%... Looks like a fall project now

Installed new mag hytech cover. Only down side is that it seems to be weeping from the bottom. Anyone else had this problen?

X 2 the size of the stock trans cooler installed. Excellent and economic way to keep your trans cooler while towing or off roading. [emoji1417]
