Christ, not another "Unacceptable for a $70k+ vehicle" thread.

News flash, folks: A fully loaded XLT will run you $55k. What do you think that extra $15k is really getting you?

It's a mass-produced pickup truck, not a McLaren. Your expectations are misplaced.

I can't wait to meet the person who looks at my Raptor and says "Cool truck, but actually if you stare at the side of your door at the exact right angle I can see a little bit of waviness in your door panel." I would then shrug and say, cool man what do you drive BTW.

It doesn't take "the exact right angle", it's easily visible looking down the side of the vehicle from any relatively shallow angle. I saw it on the very first 2015 truck I looked at 4 years ago. I noticed it in less than 30 seconds just casually walking around it, and I was not looking for it since I had no idea it was there in the first place.

No, it's not a huge deal, but I would have thought Ford could get their aluminum door skin stamping process right after 4 years of production. They have been stamping door skins for over 100 years, albeit out of steel for 95% of that time.

At least it won't rust though!

If I ever meet a person who wanted to compare the quality of his Raptor door panel to mine I think I would just walk away.
Actually I could see my FIL pointing out the door panel and reminding me about it all of the time...

Y’all need to get back to reality, “for a $70k truck blah blah” - you realize if you told somebody 15, he’ll 10 years ago you could buy a 450hp/510tq full AL bodied truck w/ dual mode transfer case allowing it to run in AWD, locking front/rear diffs, & ability to jump sand dunes @ 70mph w/ a warranty while returning 16mpg they’d probably ask if you were marty McFly.

Sorry the AL body panels in your domestic truck aren’t up to the quality level you’d expect from other AL bodied vehicles....which up until the F150 was relegated to the likes of Aston martins & Lambos, the most “pedestrian” level vehicle to sport an all AL body prior to an F159 was a Range Rover.

Gotta compromise somewhere

All right I shouldn't have said anything about the price of the vehicle because as previous people have mentioned it's on all of the F-150 and current for trucks, it's just a stamping issue and it's not just around the door handle it is extremely Lumpy in between the door handle and the mirrors on the doors, it's just crazy I also have a 2019 GMC at4 and it's as straight as an arrow no issues whatsoever, I just would think that they could get this right and I am completely shocked on the number of people that are oblivious to this, I mean hell, Helen Keller pointed that out to me

I just went out and looked at my doors. All 4 look fine. They all have that indent that is supposed to be there just around the handle assembly but I couldn’t see any other wave?

BUUUUT, I’m not a body guy so I may not know what I’m looking for. Looking down the truck from the rear with the door handles at eye level I couldn’t see any wave or imperfections.

2019 velocity blue.
