Well I took my first test drive of a Raptor. She was a black beauty. 5.4L with the decal option and the Sony radio. Went with the dealer and my 7 year-old who was in the back. By the way he fit just fine, with a booster.

After the test drive I'm looking for an alternative dealer b/c I will have no luck getting them to come down in price. My 7 year-old completely let loose with a tirade of praise and amazement.

"This truck is sooo much smoother than your car Dad." My car is a late model range rover.
"This is the best truck in the world!" After we crested a small hill and caught some air.
"Are we going to get this truck today? Please?" Once we dropped it off.

Needless to say my son will not be coming with me when it is time to order. In his defense my smile was ear-to-ear the entire time.

Welcome! And yeah... it's hard to convince a salesperson to drop the price under those conditions...

Welcome to the forum! Its good to know that you've trained your son quite well. :) He is a "car person" at the tender age of 7 which means you've started him down the right path. Hopefully he'll have an opportunity to own and drive a vehicle as nice (and big and powerful) as the Raptor you now HAVE to buy (if you don't buy it he'll spend the rest of your life reminding you about the most awesome truck you ever drove but never bought).

Good luck with your purchase. Make sure you hide the keys from him. I won't be surprised if you tell us in a year or two how he borrowed your keys and drove your Raptor down the block on his own

Imagine that? Test driving a vehicle before your purchase it.

Welcome to the only Raptor forum that matters.

Cool,

I'm a little nervous about the Raptor and our 8yr old. In order to place my order for a Raptor I had to sell my Harley Edition F150 which didn't go over all that well with our son. And he has yet to see a Raptor live and in person. So I'm wondering how it's going to go over with him.

I was driving by my dealer and they just got a 6.2L Molten and a Flame Blue 5.4L...these are both fully loaded. If you can't find one locally and are interested, I can pass you along some contact info.
