Wait for 19 or just buy 18 leftover?

Hey guys just trying to figure out if the wait for the 19 and the price increase will be worth it. The only option I can see that might be worth the wait for me would be the shocks and the new blue color choices. My F250 might run out of warranty before a 19 would come in not sure but after one engine replacement not keeping truck without a warranty LOL

So what do you all think? In my area some dealers have them at MSRP or a little lower and I might be able to work a deal who knows. I see some threads about discounts down south but looking at the discounts they aren't much different than my area. Only thing I might have trouble finding is the bead locks which I like but I could always do aftermarket rims later on. I'll probably go with white in my opinion the bead locks look good on it.

Thanks

Nice, I think I can locally and who knows might even be able to locate one with the beadlocks. It will see most of it's time on the pavement so even though the new 19 shocks would be nice I'm thinking the 18 will do me just fine.

I've had 3 white trucks and for some reason just like white.

This is my first white. I am coming from blacked out. So much easier to keep clean and looking good! I agree unles you are doing a lot of off roading across changing conditions you will be just fine with an 18’.

OP, it's really up to you and what you see as important in your new Raptor.

Things I would consider are the 19 upgrades really worth the wait and price increase + potential ADM? Bead locks - you can get low mileage factory OEM (take offs) here. Have seen several sets put up for sale here and, (IIRC), one person wanted to trade bead locks for the standard OEM wheel/tire.

Personally, I think the new "robin's egg blue" Alcantara seating (faux suede) is atrocious and having a GT350 with the faux suede interior, I don't care for it. But, that's just MO.

Good luck, great trucks, I just picked up my new 18 last month and am really liking it!!

Yeah white is easy to keep clean in my book or at least it doesn't show dirt as much.

Hotlap thanks for the comments and advice on the blue you have in the mustang and how it's not holding up well. Yeah it is up to me and I'm just trying to figure it all out. Good to know that there are OEM bead locks on here for sale.

I'm trying not to rush my decision and wait for the 19 info to come out but at the same time having a friend that is ready to buy my F250 it is very tempting to just go get an 18 and start enjoying it

So close to the 2019 order date! At least wait till then!!!!

Yeah that's the plan right now just wait until the 2019 info comes out and I can build one like I want and then compare it to the 2018 I built at least price wise and then decide. The new shocks could be really nice but then it will spend 95% of it's time on pavement so not sure that upgrade will be worth the wait and extra cost. Now one of the two new blue colors might be who knows. So I'll just wait for now there are plenty of 18's around if I decide not to do a 19.

Get an 2018 for below sticker. I wish i waited a bit longer to get a better deal. I paid MSRP but with a "free line-x bedliner". So no real win there.

Knowing that majority of it's life it will live on the pavement, and if i decided to pound it prerunning or trail more, 99.999% of the current suspension will handle it all. I dont plan on jumping my 70K+ truck or getting stupid with it. If i wanted to hit it harder beyond the factory fox 3.0's, i'd go with fox race 3.0 or king 3.0's with triple bypasses nullifying the need for the electronically controlled dampers.

Back in my car tuning days, tein tried this with their EDFC (basically same technology that fox is doing almost 20 years later). It ended up not being something people wanted to use. It was automatic, but you could electronically control your settings from inside the cabin.
