I got this error message on my Sync screen when I plugged in the extension cable of my Lockerdown safe. This makes no sense sine it's just an extension, with no device connected. The message would pop up and not go away until I unplugged the cable. I'm using an iPod with no issues.

Anyone run into this? A Google search didn't show much, except the possibility I might have a bad USB port.

Some of the cheap USB adapters have issues...using an Apple USB adapter?

No, it's the cable that comes with the Lockerdown console safe. It extends the USB port into an external port you can use while the safe is locked. It looks like a simple USB extension with the female end installed into an opening in the safe.

Man, either way I'm looking like I'm gonna have to remove the safe to get this fixed. Darn. It was an easy install but it's all nice and tight in there. I may just do without that extension. It's so a passenger can connect a USB device without having to open the safe. I'm thinking they don't need to plug in anything...

The extension is attached to the safe on the female end. I contacted the vendor to see if he had heard this before. If a new extension cable is an option, I'll have to remove the safe to install it. Sigh.

What error are you getting?

I had gone thru some "hubs not supported" and bluetooth connection issues after adding a usb splitter under my dash. Only solution was removing it all.
