So I just woke up a little bit ago and had a text from my salesman. He said "I called to check on your truck and I was told it was next in line". I responded "Next in line to be built or next in line to get a VIN?" His response "Both to be built and get a VIN". He also added "He did not give me a time frame, but told me it's the next in line."

Does that make any sense? What does that mean for prospective delivery time? I'm a little disappointed because I was wanting to do all the fun stuff like getting the VIN, looking at the window sticker one it hit the link, get the build date. I was actually even considering taking a trip to Dearborn to watch the truck get built. "Next in line"....WTF?

thats "dealer-speak" for "i have no idea".

Leave your car for service and ask em where it is 3 hours later, they tell ya "oh, we are looking at this and that"..... roll back the video you started recording 2 minutes before you pulled in and you will see they let it SIT until 2pm, then at 2:15 tell you they can't figure it out.

True story. Most (most) dealerships and their representatives (most, Randy not you :), suck balls... they care more about going home than selling you anything, especially if its already ordered.

S U C K B A L L Z

The salesman is the guy who interprets the deal between you and the sales manager. Sometimes they have been there a month, and sometimes they have been there a year. Either way, usually you will have a better idea than they will.

Thug boy,

Back in the early days while we were waiting for the 6.2 orders to be produced we had a little luck starting with the Dora. A DORA is a Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgment. Its a printout the dealer gets back from Ford after ordering. Usually comes next business day. You should get one from your dealer after ordering. Its a good way to verify what's ordered is what you want. If you haven't got one, call the dealer and get it from him. Take your Dora and call the numbers below and see if they can help you. It was hit and miss if they could help you or not. Who knows maybe you will get lucky. BWAAAAAHHAAAHAAA!!!!

Ford Customer Care: 800-392-3673

I have the DORA already. My wife works for the dealer's GM line of cars, so these are people she knows very well. I just think this has come down to them not knowing the procedures in obtaining the info., but since they are friends of hers, I'm not trying to push the issue.

I was actually just talking to a buddy about making a call to Ford myself and will probably do that tomorrow.
