Thanks everybody, I'm currently doing the phone tag game with the salesman I dealt with.

Luckily, I haven't found any on the paint... just the muffler, all 4 shocks, drive shaft, a bit on the transfer case and passenger valve cover.

If the salesman doesn't come up with satisfactory results, has anyone here ever called Ford directly? I might also call up the company that does the coating, just to see what they say.

I'm hoping I can make the dealership understand that I'm upset over the fact that I bought a service and it was done... just with little attention to detail.

I would bypass the salesman and put a call into the GM or even a Sales Manager. They SHOULD make it right.

So I talked the the dealership's POC for the treatment today. He gave me the number for the owner of the valuguard company. I called and talked to him, he explained that some minor over spray is to be expected. I told him that the truck is just over a week old and that these aren't a $50 AutoZone shock we are talking about here. He again assured me that it wouldn't impact performance and I again told him that I didn't care, I wanted it off. I wouldn't care if it was my old 98 ranger, this is my first new automotive purchase!

So, tomorrow I'm going down there to have them take care of it. The owner did say that he wants to make it right and offered to give me money for gas there and back. So, hopefully they can clean it off with minimal effort! Worst case, the dealership POC said that he would just get me new shocks if I wasn't happy afterwards.

One odd thing, everyone I talk to from the dealership is really pushing for high marks on the evaluation paperwork that is supposed to come from Ford.

I will update after I get back from there tomorrow, hopefully with good news.

Yep. I purchased and took delivery in June. I was reminded non stop about filling out the survey and making sure to score them top in every category. I held out on the survey until I was confident the deal was complete (which included the refund of 2700+ dollars of over taxing me since I bought out of state over two months after the paper work was signed). But, I was sure to hook them up after all was said and done.

Is Ford really strict about these surveys...like tied monetarily to the people that worked with me?

Thanks,
Matt

That is what I'm thinking! It was mentioned several times when we bought the Raptor, the one visit back and every single call in between! They were very serious about letting us know that "any mark less than perfect is like a failure"on the form. Are there any salesmen on the forum?

First, The guy who did the work is a hack. Zero overspray should be the outcome, and YES it will affect performance, overtime your shocks and other components will get gummed up with road shit. The first thing people check out on the Raptor is the shocks!!

Second, I think the dealer needs to make it right, you should take lots of pictures BEFORE you go anywhere, send them to the dealer, post them here, etc. get a record, otherwise if there's more damage after you're screwed.

Don't take the survey til they make it right. CSI (customer service indicators) scores are very important to the dealership and Ford.
