Two weeks with the Raptor review....

Well today marks 2 weeks with my new Raptor, Big Blue.

I figured it was time to share my views;

I LOVE IT!!! What a great truck!!

I dont have anything negative to say. No issues, everything works great.

Already have around 400 miles on her, just installed the 5 star tune over the weekend to finish out the performance mods.

Having rigid 20" lower grill light, V1 hardwired and Homelink rearview mirror done this week.

I would have to say the 2 most notable observations thus far:

1) Man, she is likes to drink the Petrol!! Granted I have a heavy foot.

2) Cars seem sooooo small next to her. I think I may have run over a prius the other day and didnt even notice it, LOL!!!

Congrats on the truck and glad you are having a good time with it. It is fun to scare a prius or two when you get right up behind them at night. Scares the crap out of them. Hwy 41 is full of them especially around the Navy base and south, my wife gets mad at me. Lol. Lots of greenies here. Have fun but be careful.

Failed

1) (In-channel) Window Vent Visors

They went on great, but the front windows would not close. They would get 3/4 up (think its a kids head, I guess) and immediately lower. Tryed to adjust but kit even came with channel inserts, but no go. The rears went up fine. Had to remove them all. Oh well, only $40.

Having done this Friday.

1) Rigid 20" Raptor Lower Grill light
2) Hardwire V1
3) Homelink Rearview Mirror
4) Hella Supertones (debating on these)

As far as the tune. Super Easy install. About 15-20 minutes total time. No codes or issues. First thing I noticed was instant throttle response. 2nd thing I noticed is 3000 rpm limiter in park is gone.

Serious improvement in gear shifts. If you really step on it from a stop, it will rev to 6k, if you take off normally, it will shift around 3k. I am still learning its peaks and characteristics, but am very happy with the results so far. I am equally pleased with all other mods completed.

The retrax is sweet, opens like a breeze and I lay on the bedrug all the time (Cant do that with Line-x...well, you can but it hurts). The swing case is great, the magnaflow exhaust is perfect. It roars when you step on it, it has a great idle, but just crusin a 55-65..you dont even hear it.

Excited to get the Rigid light installed so I can blind MFers that drive to slow while talking on thier cellphones!!
