Ordered a Tuffy Security Heavy Duty Truck Bed Drawer unit that I had built to a custom spec.
There offering is a touch long for what I thought the 5.5' bed would hold. This is with the factory stripper pole in place. Since I had the bedliner to match, I kept it all as is and made the box to work. Talking a few inches shorter in length.
I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but for me, the Raptor now is a must, but also towing on occasion and cargo is as well.
This is what I tossed in, not sure on securing the unit just yet, waiting on tailgate stripper pole delete parts, then I will fab the brackets.
Once installed and secure, I will be looking to fab my own rack and or having a member here build one.
The rack dimensions are 61" long x 47 3/4" wide x 7" tall. This will keep the rack just shy of the bed rail height. Intent is to secure coolers, spare, jack, CO2 bottle, and other items that can withstand the sun and elements.
The drawer unit weighs in at about 450lb so I am hoping to keep the rack as minimal as possible. I like what Viper Tours has on there rig, looking for something similar.
Any suggestions? Or am I hitting the metal shop and fabbing my own this next week or two?
Thought about a v shaped side extensions to the bed rails to fill the void. Any venders here willing to take on such a project????
