I enjoyed the vid, thanks for sharing it.

No way I'm going to Mexico anytime soon so I'll live vicariously through you and the others brave enough to go.

I know there a lot of drug BS & etc…. going on down there but we have the same shit on this side of the border; other words CNN of Mexico (if that exists) is probably showing all the murders, drugs, etc… going on in our cities & showing news clips about our **** heads in US rural areas. Other words we have our problems too. Though I believe you would have a blast down in ole Mexico doing a Raptor Run.

There is absolutely NO comparison to what's going on in Mexico to anything in the U.S. The level of wanton and indiscriminate violence in Mexico right now is nothing I want any part of.

Information is your friend.

Just look at any Narco-blogs and get some of the 'real' story on what's going on in that country. There's a reason that tens of thousands of people are fleeing Mexico's cities and the major, tourist spots are now more akin to ghost towns than the vibrant tourist traps of years past. Take a look at Avenida Revolucion in Tijuana.. absolutely dead, stores closed, no traffic, no bars, no music, nada.

Here's an article outlining how deadly Ciudad Juarez has become.. Ciudad Juarez More Deadly Than Afghanistan

I have a lot of friends in Mexico right now, many more who left and I myself honeymooned there and used to head into Mexico for monthly surf trips. I love the people, culture and history of Mexico and it pains me to see the devastation and suffering this BS has reaped across that country.

Hey, I believe everyone's an adult and can make up their own minds and plot their own course in life. I myself will not be tempting fate any time soon. Life's a series of calculated risks and one day I'll head back to MX, but as for right now and the near future, that's just not a risk I'm willing to take.

There are plenty of safe spots here in the U.S. where I can run my Raptor AND I can legally carry my weapon to fend of any rabid **** heads I may find along the way.. lol

I won't get in an argument here on safety in Mexico, I know that there are a lot of places in Mexico that I wouldn't dream of going, Juarez, Nuevo Laredo, Tijuana. But there are places in the United States I wouldn't feel comfortable going either. However, there are quite a few places on the Baja peninsula that I feel safer than I do at home. Great people who are willing to help you do anything. We leave our gear in the back of the truck at night with no problems, give rides to guys who have been walking across the desert for 3 days because they had to ride a horse across the peninsula to sell it, then walk back.

Locals have invited us into their homes, and have shared meals with us for no good reason. Think of the last time that a complete stranger has asked you into their home for dinner, without trying to peddle some pyramid scam or other typical BS on you?

I won't argue for the entire country of Mexico, but Baja is something that needs to be seen, it is simply amazing. The human spirit, the terrain, the beauty, its just amazing.

You know what... On second thought, its really dangerous down there, no one should go... Ya thats it, the masses need to stay away from that place...

Which Major Tourist spots? I have visited the Yucatan and the Baja this year, and they were both booming. The border towns have suffered, but that's because that is where most of the violence is. And I don't know the last time you have tried to get into our out of Mexico through Tijuana but the traffic is so bad that its a few hour wait each direction. Ghost town.

My suggestion is, don't buy into all the media hype, its just like anywhere else, don't be places that you know you shouldn't be (aka boys town at 2 am), and keep your wits about. I go down there with a group of guys that go at least 4 times a year and have been doing to since the early ninties. They have never had a violent conflict whatsoever. Sure it could happen, hell it could happen in the US too.

end rant.

Group of kids that came to visit while we were having some free welding done at a shop in San Juanico. About 20 of em got in line and I let them sit in one of the prerunners.

Visiting some of our friends at a Rancho near our pit. These guys came out and insisted in trading us rides on their horses for Raptor rides. (I think they got the better end of the deal)

I've been going to Baja for 25 years now, and NEVER a single problem. I took my Daughter to her first Baja 1000 in 2010, here is a little video of that;

Here is a video I love to share for those that fear Mexico;
