Trade 2018 for 2019?

Just as the title reads; I currently have a 2018 with every option and 12,000 miles on her and looking to upgrade to a 2019 that is priced 5k under sticker (which I paid sticker for the 2018). The 2019 has a few less stickers but is loaded up otherwise; my question is has anyone jumped up to a 2019 from a 2017 or '18 and wished they hadn't? I am getting what I feel is a fair trade in for my 2018 ($62K) especially when the truck I am buying is priced at $69k.

Other concern is should I wait an order a 2020? Decisions decisions...

With regards to the new live valve shock technology; those that had owned both types of suspension longer than a test drive; are you happy with the new setup? I personally like the fact that the 2019s sit visually higher in the front (leveled) compared to the rake that exists in my 2018 (which I know can be leveled, but I'd rather it be factory and left well alone)

Can't help much on the ride difference and I have only owned a 2019. I love the ride of the live shocks. The frame is also improved.

My calculation is your cost for one year is ~$12,000 even though its only costing you $7000 out of pocket. The other $5K is hidden in difference in value of the two trucks.

On the plus side, Pennsylvania auto taxes only being on the out of pocket saves you thousands from what I would have to pay in California. The tax would be 9% on the total of 69K ~ $6K tax + Doc and License of ~1K.

I had a 2017 and now have a 2019. If you are not having any issues with your 2018, then I would advise against doing the swap. There may be slight differences in how they ride, but nothing all that notable to justify the hit you will be taking. If they make significant changes to the 2021, then order one of those when it becomes available.

If you have some money to burn, then I would start adding accessories (tune, different springs, bigger tires, radio, lighting, etc.......). I think you would be far happier with your 2018 all jazzed up then the exact same thing just a year newer.

I traded my 2018 in for a 2019. My main reason was the hell I put my 2018 threw in the swamp and just kinda wanting to be out of it. My net trade was about $7K too. For me it was worth it, but as other have said it might be worth waiting.

Changed might be a better word, but its a little different as pointed out in the threads on adding air bags, the brackets need to be modified because of the changes. I would assume that its been thickened or a slight redesign for the forces from the live shocks and jumping. I have read somewhere the live shocks also have an internal hydraulic bump stop. I still plan on adding bumps stops to my truck.

.58¢ a mile is what your cost is in truck depreciation alone.

seems kind of steep for no real upgrade. Live valve is not worth $7k to me.

2017 to 19 here. Was worth it for me for the deal I got. Recaro interior makes it feel like an new truck and the new shocks are great.

I wouldn’t listen to the wait and see people. You may be waiting forever vs just enjoying the car. The rumor mill on this website is absurd most of the time

I'd honestly wait for a refresh to trade into another Raptor. I don't think a 18 to 19/20 is worth it. Now, if the new 2020 came with a new HO engine or some other crazy refresh I would for sure.
