Added a minor mod this morning, the stubby antenna. I think it looks way better than the factory antenna. I rarely listen to the radio but I tested it around town and didn't notice any loss of reception and all my usual stations came in HD.

Not only does it look way better, if you offroad it's also a smarter choice.

I personally know of 2 Raptors that lost a front windshield due to the OEM antenna whipping back after a branch strike and cracking the windshield.

Now I'm worried about my tall roof mount if it slaps forward, I'm going to bust out my sunroof.

I haven't noticed a loss of radio reception with the stubby in my area but I use SiriusXM and a USB key most of the time.

Five-O has a good point though... I kept hitting the top of the antenna at Universal Studios Hollywood parking garage and didn't like that but at least it served as a warning.

I have a stubby also. Although I was warned in a previous thread that if something does hit it hard, the Fiberglas fender could be damaged as there is no give in the stubby to absorb the energy.

its rare to have the oem antenna come back and hit the glass. so mine will stay. i prefer the 31.5" whip for specific reasons.
