For Immediate Release

PLYMOUTH, Mich. (April 2, 2012) – F-150’s and superchargers are nothing new to ROUSH Performance. ROUSH has been supercharging Ford F-150 5.4L-V8’s since the 2004 model year using ROUSH superchargers with Eaton M112 internals. What’s new are the 6.2L-V8 Ford F-150 engine and ROUSH’s new R2300 supercharger with Eaton TVS internals designed for the 6.2L Raptor, Harley Davidson, Platinum and Lariat F-150 models.

Both the M112 and R2300 are roots-type positive displacement superchargers featuring twin rotors. The difference is Eaton’s original M112 rotating assembly was designed using three lobes per rotor that were each twisted 60-degrees. The new TVS rotating assembly features twin four lobe rotors with 160-degree twist. The fourth lobe and higher helix angle, combined with newly redesigned air inlet and outlet ports improves air-handling characteristics, greatly enhances thermal efficiency, delivers higher volumetric capacity and enables higher operating speeds. These improvements allow for the use of a smaller supercharger, reducing the package size and weight. And unlike turbo-chargers or centrifugal superchargers, positive displacement superchargers provide instantaneous boost response and can generate increased power through the engine’s entire powerband.

ROUSH Performance now has two TVS supercharger offerings available, with a third on the way, for the 6.2L Ford F-150 trucks. The first is a non-calibrated supercharger kit designed for Tuner shops to add their own PCM calibration and fuel injector size. The second kit is a complete kit including ROUSH PCM calibration. Both kits include a ROUSH R2300 TVS supercharger (Tuner kit with 75 mm pulley and Calibrated kit with 80 mm pulley) mounted atop ROUSH’s uniquely designed upper and lower intake manifolds. Providing a cold air charge is a high-capacity, high-efficiency air-to-water intercooler along with a dual-core low temp radiator and large intercooler degas bottle. These kits also include ROUSH’s new F-150 cold air induction system featuring an open element air box, washable high-flow air filter, 100 mm MAF tube, unique clean air tube, twin 60mm throttle body and throttle body spacer. The ROUSH calibrated kit includes 47-lb injectors and a ROUSH engineered PCM calibration.

The stock 6.2L Ford F-150 produces an impressive 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque. ROUSH’s complete kit is calibrated to produce a tire melting 525 horsepower and seat crushing 535 lb-ft of torque. During initial testing (using a 2011 Raptor F-150 Crew Cab) showed a considerable drop in 0-60 mph times from 6.6 seconds on the stock Raptor down to 5.7 seconds with the ROUSH TVS supercharger. ¼ mile performance times also improved from 15.2 seconds at 92 mph on the stock Raptor to 13.9 seconds at 97 mph.
ROUSH’s calibration expertise is second-to-none with the most thorough calibrations in the aftermarket. ROUSH’s calibration development begins on engine dynamometer to run steady state mapping, optimizing and maximizing power and torque curves, durability testing and pre-ignition and ignition system capabilities. The next stage is to the emissions lab to calibrate for emissions compliance with the required government agencies. The third and most extensive stage is on-road in-vehicle calibration. This phase calibrates the control system to function properly with ROUSH’s modifications, including the upgraded fuel injectors, throttle body, air induction, and supercharger. The on-road in-vehicle calibration phase concludes with development trips to the hot deserts of Arizona, the high altitude mountains of Colorado and frigid temperatures of northern Minnesota to validate extreme ambient temperatures. All of these stages allow ROUSH to calibrate for the ultimate blend of horsepower, drivability and durability.

The third offering, which will be available in May 2012, is a higher horsepower calibrated kit that is targeted to produce and astonishing 575 horsepower. This kit will be the same as the 525 hp kit but with a smaller supercharger pulley and unique calibration. For those that already have the 525 horsepower kit, an upgrade kit will be available to jump from 525 hp to 575 hp.

All three kits carry a ROUSH warranty. The 6.2L “Tuner” comes with a 90-day ROUSH parts limited warranty. The complete 525 hp calibrated kit comes standard with a 3 year/36,000 mile ROUSH parts limited warranty and has an optional 3 year/36,000 mile complete powertrain/drivetrain warranty available. The 575 hp complete calibrated kit will come with a 3 year/36,000 mile ROUSH parts limited warranty.
