Message: <blockquote data-quote="COBRA90GT" data-source="post: 812489" data-attributes="member: 12698">"The sky is falling, the sky is falling !"Quick, everybody start hoarding V8s the way people were (are?) hoarding ammunition!       j/k   <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite1" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":)" /> Now, onto a few serious latenight thoughts from here in the Motor City (my hope is for the folks who were at SVT to listen to the enthusiasts and help affect change at management - or, bring John Coletti back from retirement if needed) :1 - I don't like the drop/loss of the "SVT" name (as a whole) either; I know Ford started to move away from "SVT" a little while back and created "Ford Performance Group."  And now it seems they are totally dropping the "SVT" nameplate and going with just "Ford Performance."It's very odd because there is SO much instant brand recognition with "SVT."  Three simple letters that led the way.  "Performance.  Substance.  Exclusivity."  The hallmarks of a SVT vehicle.  You knew a SVT vehicle was a little "more special."  Others in the industry wanted to become "SVT" (ie - "SRT" anyone?).Sigh.  Must be that silly global vision "moving forward" catch phrase that those in the business keep repeating over and over during press releases.2 - Make better use of the "truck apps" section on the dash/speedo cluster of the new gen Raptor.  This area was such an under-utilized part of the truck's electronics system compared to other products (ie - Mustang).  Give us:  oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, etc.  Hell, maybe even an industry first altimeter for those who like to catch big air (I'm not kidding about the last part).  Allow lighting customization for background colors on the speedo dash, cup holders, footwells, ambient lighting systems, or whatever the new gen Raptor is going to come with.3 - Ensure that the new sunroofs and rear windows won't have problems.  Customers don't want to deal with the hassle of finding a shattered rear window (with or without using their rear defrosters) or a sticking/stuck sunroof.  Make sure that the design is 100% sound and not flawed.  There's too many current generation Raptors (as well as regular F-150s) that have had problems here.  It's embarassing, to put it bluntly.4 - On the topic of V8s, on a truck like this it's fair to say that many would at least like to see the option of a V8 engine.  There's just something about the noise and sound a V8 makes when you're gunning it (especially with an aftermarket exhaust).  It's an emotional topic, for sure.Ecoboosted V6s are here to stay.  We get that.  Go ahead and make it the default/standard powerplant but allow for a really fuel thirsty V8 (perhaps one that is even boosted?) as an optional engine with the gas guzzler tax if you must.  Ecobeast V8?  Do it.  Go crazy with the idea.A V8 in an offroad truck like the Raptor (or a Mustang) is about as American as apple pie and baseball.  At the very least, you just gotta have one available - even if it's a high dollar option that adds silly amounts of money to the MSRP.That's all I got for now Ford / SVT (RIP?) / Ford Performance Group (or was it FPG  ?) / Ford Performance (FP?)...more ideas and suggestions to come at a later time.---------- Post added at 05:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:37 AM ----------^  Oh yeah, almost forgot - bring the Bronco back too.  That'd be perfect with the Ecoboost V6 for rock crawling.  Then stick V8 in Raptor.  <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite1" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":)" /></blockquote>
