The Best Glass Cleaner?

I’ve had it with crappy glass cleaner that leaves streaks or film on the windows of my trucks. This Rain X Glass cleaner that I bought is worthless! I had to settle on buying it because the Invisible Glass cleaner I normally use was no where to be found. I need to know what you guys recommend and why.


The Rain X Glass Cleaner I was using does not have the Rain X additive in it. It was only glass cleaner.

Does ok. But the smell gets me for some reason.

It is a weird sweet smell.

A couple years ago I bought a 5 liter container of Nextzett glass cleaner from amazon by accident - I was intending to get washer fluid. Luckily, it's hands down the best I've ever used. In conjunction with a microfiber, it just does not streak or smear, ever. Kinda pricey but a little goes a long way and its dilutable.

Spray away is easy on the window films.
I used it in my auto glass shop for years.

I think that the best commercial glass cleaner is Invisible Glass.

But many years ago Consumer Reports published a comparison test on glass cleaners, and the best in the test was the home grown formula they came up with on their own. I have been making and using that formula for decades with excellent success, and I have shared it with others and they have had high praise. Here is the formula:

In a spray bottle put in 1 tablespoon of ammonia, 1 tablespoon of isopropyl alcohol, 1 drop of dish washing detergent, and fill with water. Excellent stuff - as good or better than anything on the market.

…and I like the “clear, non-sudsing ammonia” for glass cleaning.
