Your right. American auto manufacturers would never choose a V6 for performance vehicle aimed at enthusiasts. Certainly not such notable vehicles as the GMC Syclone/Typhoon or the Buick Grand National/GNX or most notably the 2017 Ford GT.


You realize how flawed your bias is?


There once was a time when a V16 was the performance engine of choice until it was discovered that you could make the same power with a V8 and it was less weight and more efficient. The same is true with a V6. It can make more power and be more efficient. Embrace the future.
