Hey all, I have been trying to update my Sync 3 and add my new to me truck to the FordPass App but the modem is not communicating with the system and no serial number pops up. I’ve tried resetting the system to no prevail, and tried the fuse pull for a hard reset but no dice.

My question is, if I purchase a new TCU since I am presuming this is not working, is it simply plug and play or will it need to be coded?

I had this issue with my ‘19 a couple years ago. FordPass stopped communicating with the truck and like yours, the serial number wouldn’t show in Sync. Dealer replaced the TCU under warranty and they had to talk to Ford to change the serial number from my old TCU to new TCU. I don’t recall there being any type of coding though.
