I've been studying everyone's threads about pending orders trying to learn as much as possible since my sales guy told me NOTHING!

After reading some of the recent posts about order tracking, I called my sales guy to ask what's my order # and the priority code. (Before I saw the post about that info being on my order sheet) 15 mins ago I called SVT and gave 'em my order # & dealer code only to hear, "I don't have any record of your order." [The order number looks odd to me - "9999" - looks generic, like he was just using it to pull up pricing info when I was there?]

My question: exactly when do the guys at SVT have visibility of an order? Immediately upon input from dealer or later down the line in the process?

As soon as your order is pulled and Vin'ed.

dale, before I had a vin they told me my order was processing. I assume they could see something in the system.

Yup. You need to give them the order number and the dealer code and they can tell yu if the order is in processing. Anything less and the order isn't in the system (not placed). I went months with SVT telling me it was "in processing".

Update: First, my minor freak out session could've been avoided had my salesman just returned my call yesterday. Hearing the words, "we have no record of your order" from SVT nearly caused my heart to stop!

Here's what I learned... yes, as I suspected, I had a bogus order # used only for the purpose of discussing price the day I went to the dealer. A phone call to the sales manager (since the salesman can't be bothered to call me back) resulted in me now having not only the correct order #, but also the corrected order date, current priority, and current status. See how easy that was to make me happy mr. no-returnee-phone-call salesman!

As some of you mentioned, the folks on the other end of SVT line can actually see our orders as soon as they're input at the dealer. I confirmed this with the SVT folks. BTW, they're all very helpful on that line!

I really appreciate you guys jumping in to help educate the newbie! THANK YOU! :waytogo:
