couple things.......

#1...wether you like the roof or not.....if you have one....you need to open it from time to time....clean it....and lube the seals...or you will get the rattle and possibly shatter action when it sticks.

#2.... the decision to offer you a loaner is 100% at the dealer discretion and many domestic dealers (ford, chevy, dodge) don't offer loaners. Usually only the very large dealers with huge volumes offer loaners as a way to incent you to buy from them.

#2b...some extended warrenties from ford i think include loaners as part of the program

In regard to them potentially denying the claim, what happens if their ****** glass breaks again? Just keep paying them over and over? And what else isn't covered that I don't yet know about?

Well now that was fun.

Getting on to a highway onramp, no one around me, hear what sounded like a shotgun blast, look up and entire front sunroof panel had shattered. Little glass shards raining down, closed the shade to stop itView attachment 150273 . Surprised it held together during the 12 mile drive to Ford. Could hear it cracking more and more as I drove.

Ford says they need to determine if it's "my fault" or not. OK whatever.

I have a 2014 and this exact thing happened to me and have no idea why. I was driving on a highway by myself nobody around on cruise control and a loud bang and look up and my entire moonroof was shattered. Luckily $50 and insurance covered it but what gives

And yes, I will pay to get out of a bad relationship whether it's with a person or a $75k pickup truck whose manufacturer won't stand behind their product. Life's too short and I prefer to live as stress free as possible.

Yeah. Ended up being about 2k. 500 deductible covered it

It’s not super common. I am not worried about it happening again. Certainly not worth selling a vehicle over.

fwiw I bought my old 2014 with 35k miles and a leaky strut and ford replaced it no questions asked. Glass claims are just a bitch

According to Ford Customer Service, a loaner or rental is part of my warranty. I called them to get the straight scoop because of all the conflicting advice I was getting here and because my manual was in the glove box. If the Ford dealer isn't getting you into a vehicle, they're ******** with you.
