Hi all,

I was looking to upgrade the sub in my truck, got a SCREW and 802A. Since i dont have much experience on whats good thought id ask here for everyones feedback. Dont want to walk and get oversold at a shop lol.

I was looking for something to go behind the seat.

First question being:
Do you guys recommend 1 or 2? (please specify the make and model.)

Second:
Amp selection. (this will depend on 1 or 2 subs, please specify the make and model.)

Just looking to see what everyone thinks/suggest and then go for there. Not looking to spend a crazy amount either, but i do want to feel it haha.

Appreciate any help!

I went with the JL 13TW5v2 stealth box. It sounds amazing but fits under the seat not behind so thats the trade off. Hard to get any good bass sound in the tiny space behind the seat and they really shouldn't call the stock a sub as it can't hit any lows [emoji23]

I went into the local shop to get some ball park idea of the pricing.

Heres what i got:

Total: ~2323.00 CAD
1x JL 10TW3D4 (400W) 10" ($420.00)
1x JL JLJX5001D amp ($350.00)
Custom box ~$900.00, he wasnt too sure about this and ball parked it at 900.
So the total is for everything installed and all the wiring kits etc.

Second 1 was ~3027.00 CAD
2x JL 10TW3D4 (400W) 10" ($420.00)
Hertz - Digital Power Series 1000W Class D Mono Amplifier (HDP1) ($598.00)
Same box extimate / wiring as above.

What do you guys think?

Also what do you guys think of the Hertz subs? They would take up some more real estate under the seat.
They got (these are on sale):
Hertz Hi-Energy 10" 900W 4 Ohm Single Voice Coil Subwoofer - B-Stock (HX2505BFBF) - $148.00
SPL SHOW 250MM (10") SUBWOOFER Hertz 2,400 Watt Peak / 600 Watt RMS Subwoofer (SX250D) - $248.00
Hertz Hi-Energy 12" 1200W 4 Single Voice Coil Ohm Subwoofer (HX3005) - $398.00

---------- Post added at 10:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 PM ----------

I forgot to mention that they did mention they could work on the pricing of the subs/amps as well for the sale.

Okay so i went back in to get an actual quote as the guy who makes the custom boxes was in.

All in (taxes included) its $2333.58 CAD.

2x JL TW3's (10" 400W) ($380 each)
JL XD600 amp ($ 450)
wiring kit ($ 97) + bass control knob ($ 35)
Custom twin down firing box ($ 650)

If you guys could let me know what you think of this? If you have any suggestions or if you have any other amps in mind. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Custom box is going to be pricey as labor always is. If you have a SCab that's probably the only option but that's why I went stealth box on my SCrew

Nothing fancy really but if anything breaks apart they would repair it for life.
