I would like to have my bead lock rings powder coated. Is it ok to remove the rings with the tires inflated? I know they are just there for looks so I'm assuming they have nothing to do with holding air.

We have a few threads on this already, but yes. The one thing is that when you go to put the rings back on be sure to clean the threads of the holes. The rims are aluminum so if you don't clean them you possibly could mess the threads up.

Great thanks for the reply and hint to clean the threads SilentShooter. I will definitely do that. I did do a search before I posted but could not find the answer. They will be going to my powder coater next week.

If your Raptor is your daily and depending how long the powdercoater takes, you might want to put the bolts back in to keep any crap from getting in the holes. Or just plan on cleaning them out if something does. I went to a place to get mine done that first told me 3 days and it ended up being a month because they screwed up the first time and told them to redo it and then my job went on the back burner.

I probably won't drive my Raptor while the rings are off. I have an F350 that's my daily driver. I do have a good powder coater that I use often so he treats me pretty good. If is black or white he usually gets the job done for me the next day because he has those colors set up all the time. I will clean out the holes even so and I always use a dab of marine antiseize when I install bolts into aluminum. That way I know they will come back out when I need them to.
