It is a Tesla S, not a prius!

As far as charging while driving....

I have looked into this, unfortunately the Tesla will not charge unless it is in park... It is a designed safety feature...

I thought about a trailer and loading the tesla to charge it and still racking up miles. But that is cheating and wouldn't count during record attempt..

Jeb is currently talking to Discovery channel, Jay Leno, William Wu (one car to far), and Richard Rawlings (gas monkey garage) about this project..

This setup needs more charging via RF.

Think of a rolling Duracell powermat. You can get around the charging in park thing as well.

The tesla can almost go further on a "tank" than the raptor, especially once you add all the weight. The raptor would run out of fuel in a mid drive recharge, haha!

Dang, that's a decent size generator. What's that going to weigh? 1000-1500 pounds? Plus a fuel tank... That's Taking squatting to a new level. You're going to need SDHQ air bag kit or something.

Believe it or not, being a DC generator it is lighter and small compared to an equivalent AC generator.. Plus needing no rectifier, filters or conditioners there is less equipment. The whole system wet weight as quoted by the manufacturer is 620lbs without enclosure...

This just in:
" Greg! Mike Spinelli of Drive network wants to do a story on us!!!!!"

Ahh nice. 620 pounds wont be nearly as bad. Does the tesla convert dc to ac, or does it naturally charge dc and convert from ac when plugged into the wall outlet? I've never really looked at the tesla cars that much.
