Hey all,
Does anyone know what the stock spring rate is on the raptor?
Also what is the difference between a higher spring rate say 700 and a lower one say 500. Fairly new to all this stuff.

Thanks

Dunno what the stock spring rate is. Might said it on the spring itself, haven't bothered to look.

In lamens terms it's pretty much how stiff the spring is, how hard it is to compress. And it's measured in lbs, usually (i.e. a 700lbs and 500lbs spring), I think, maybe.

I'm about 95% that the stock spring is the same as the Fox 3.0 replacement spring @ 550 pounds.

Its been discussed here many times and I believe the stock rate is 550.

As for the difference between 700 and 500 lb springs is 200.

Seriously though. It takes 700 lbs of weight to compress the spring 1 inch as compared to 500 lbs. And since the movement is linear, it would take 2100 lbs to compress the spring 3 inches compared to 1500 lbs.

Of course that means a much stiffer ride overall.

Why would you ?
If you're going through the effort for the small difference in rate, might as well go to a Deaver.

Free < 1300 :ROFLJest:

Just wanting a bit more payload capacity/bit firmer in the rear without spending a ton right at the moment (building a house next year).

Anyone ever put screw leafs on a scab?

I have a set of screw shocks that will be going on my scab, i doubt ill be able to tell the difference but figured the extra stiffness would only be for the better.

If your scab leafs were toast and the screws leafs were new takeoffs and free i can understand that
