Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has had the SPD Turbo Adapters installed. Did you install them yourself? I bought the adapter kit and the installation kit from RPG in Laguna Hills, $350 they are asking an additional $400 for installation. Seems kind of steep to me for an hour at most two hours of work.

Thanks in advance for your advice

I installed them myself and the truck had low miles when I did it. Without using a lift, I think the install took me about 2 hours. $350 for the kit seems pretty steep for the price already, so I am not surprised that they want to charge $400 for installation. IMO not worth paying someone $400 to do it.

I paid $230 for the SPD TA and the install kit (130 + 100) and $300 to have them installed along with a FlowMaster muffler. Your price for the TAs and the installation are too high. A good exhaust shop should be able to do them for less than $400 on their own.

Have these things been proven to make more HP on a stock tune and motor ? If so how much?

No

And I'm pretty sure there isn't even proof that they make any additional power unless you upgrade the turbos. Well other than the manufacturers claims.

Go to the thread link posted above and read it. These seemed intriguing when they were released but I have yet to find proof that they give any increase outside of someones seat of the pants thoughts.

IMO if you are going to put on high performance down pipes, it makes sense to put these adapters on. What doesn't make sense to me is to just put the adapters on with the stock down pipes - the OEM cats are the bottle neck, not the adapters.
