I was just curious if anyone is running the recently released SPD exhaust? I believe it was originally supposed to be released in early 2020, which ended up being delayed due to the pandemic. I saw where it was finally released last month. Thus far, the only video I’ve seen is the one that’s posted on SPD’s website and it sounds pretty decent. Just curious if any other members or Raptor owners have it or have heard it?

I did not think their new exhaust sounded good:

I think it sounds pretty good with downpipes. At the end of the day, it's still a V6. But if you want the performance advantage of downpipes and an aftermarket exhaust, it's a nice option. Most other exhausts out there are way too loud when combined with downpipes.

Just my 2 cents.

I’d say it’s no worse than anything else.

That’s not saying much because nearly all of them sound like crap. My TT V6 BMW sounds so much better than my Raptor. Lol at this point, I think am okay with the exhaust just being completely silent on the Gen 2. Hopefully Ford can do better on the next Gen.

I agree that my BMWs sound very favorable in comparison, but I don’t think it’s entirely relevant to compare a German luxury Brand to a Ford F-150. One of my BMWs even spritzes out high end cologne from the HVAC.

Lol its relevant when we are talking about Ford’s halo truck and the truck that has changed the truck industry forever. The Ford GT sounds glorious. I understand it way more expensive, but Ford could have done better on the Gen 2. At least change the turbos back to 17 where we can get the turbo whistle with SPD down pipes and the Corsa exhaust. Also, Ford nailed the exhaust on the 20 Shelby GT500. I understand its a V8, but Ford obviously spent the time to perfect the exhaust and give the driver an array of different modes to change how much exhaust note they want to hear.

The raptor rightly deserves a lot of credit towards innovation. However, I think you can look back to Hummer and even Jeep, as predecessors to the idea that you can do it all on road and off road. Ford took it to the next level, but some of that has to do with watching what enthusiasts were already trying to do with their trucks on their own. So I think there was a movement that Ford jumped on and made their own.
