My grandson and I changed spark plugs in my 2013 Roush SC SCREW yesterday. After two trips to the auto parts store, six hours of acting like a contortionist and half a pint of my blood we got it done. Truck has 68,500 miles on it and had NGK plugs in it so I assume one of the previous owners changed plugs at some point. One of the plugs was cross threaded which caused one of the trips to the auto parts store for a plug thread chaser (scary!) Changed plugs to comply with JDM's recommendation for the tune of theirs that I recently installed. Long story short the elbow behind the throttle body was a nightmare and if it hadn't been for the online videos showing at least one person had completed the task I might have given up. Truck is purring like kitten on steroids and the new tune seems to have made the shifting better. Need more time behind the wheel to know for sure.

Changing 16 plugs seems like a real **** knocker… i had an old BMW f650 that had 2 plugs. Cant really imagine what you gain with 2 plugs thats worth all the hassle…

The job difficulty is overhyped is what I learned last spring when I did my plugs. I made the job way more difficult than it should have been by not working smart. Trying to get the lower plugs from above is dumb and will cause much pain for an old guy. All the lower plugs are easier to get at through the wheel well or under the truck, the liner can be pushed or pulled out of the way. There is only one plug that is difficult, front passenger side is hard because it has to be done blind at a difficult angle. What worked for me was socket, short extension, then swivel plus longer extension, this combo will allow you to get by the shock tower. To get the socket on the plug raise the nose slightly and it goes on at a upward angle. A rolling seatbox or work stool makes the job easier as well. The second time will go much faster and will be done in groups of four.
