its tight but doable. as said parking is the biggest issue by far. I will say a rental would almost be worth it if u got an econo box as the increased mpg would almost pay for itself

Wedding is in Brooklyn but I plan to spend Sat in the city sightseeing. Do you think I can park it on the street or is that impossible?

Saturday parking is a little easier in the city especially after 7 pm. Plus you will be more comfortable in your truck when your stuck in traffic.

Hey, can you explain this? Like, you can steer without hitting stuff, or you can haul ass on the freeway?

I've never really understood this. Never met anybody that says otherwise.

Go for it. Challenge yourself!

Right. There are no self-admitted average drivers.
There are no self-admitted average love-makers, either.
They must all be extinct.

I believe I am an average driver as I have never been to a driving school nor am I a professional driver. I am, however, an above average helicopter pilot ;).

You know the trick is to tell the woman you are only ok in bed. You're in the military. It's expectation management. If you perform well you get kudos, and if not then it was expected.

I long to be an above average helicopter pilot, especially in an AH-64. You guys are the coolest dudes on earth.

Dont mean to come off as a **** with that question. It's just that I hear this all the time, yet what I see everyday is the complete opposite. Just because driving is easy doesn't mean everybody is good at it.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, I'm out.

If you really want to drive it in NY, go ahead but I'd say don't complain about paying for parking 'cause up North it always seems to be an issue.

Plus side is, I believe you'll come out on top in touch parking. I've literally watched as Prius-es, M-Coopers, and Smarts have scuffed their paint on my bumpers while I only smirk and shake my head as they try and parallel front/behind me. Pays to have a tough-as-hell set of iron bumpers and my Sparebumper.

Not sure where you will be in the city but as mentioned street parking would be something to try for. Can be tough to find and would be more difficult to fit into with a bigger vehicle. There are some surface parking lots where parking should be ok, for example around 50th street between 8th and 9th ave there are a few. There is also a garage there that can fit trucks. Of course you'll pay NYC parking rates... Otherwise your standard NYC parking garage will not fit. Good luck and have fun.

Oh, there is this webite that lists NYC parking garages and provides there max allowed height, you can see if a raptor would fit

I do it quite often as my daughter lives on upper eastside. When I need to park I usually try for the Avenues(those are the ones that go North & South) as there is more room due to multiple lanes. Streets can be tougher and tighter just to pass through especially when there are double parked cars.
Try for a parking lot (not a garage) first. And be prepared to use your fold-in mirror option often while driving :)

And remember for side streets: Even goes East; (Odd goes West)

Thank you for everyone's input. I have decided to rent a suv as I think parking will be a nightmare. I would NOT enjoy my time in NY if I am worried about my Raptor the entire time.
