So, I spent the 4th of July week in Carolla on the Outer Banks, North Carolina on vacation.   Saw a few other raptors too.....


Well, anyways, I spent a good deal of time playing in the sand, then one day it occurred to me to check transmission temp, gauge read 242 degrees. At this point I had already been playing in the sand for about an hour already.... So I am not sure how long the temp has been at this reading.


So, question is, Should I change the oil? Is the oil life compromised by being at such a high temp for a good amount of time?


I had been in 4X4 High, off-road mode.
