I had my transmission flushed at 22k miles. I didn't need to do it, but I figured it would be good to have it done to get any wear metals that might be in the oil. My trans wasn't shifting hard before i had it done, but when cold, you could feel the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts more than I liked at light throttle. After the trans flush, the shifts are almost unnoticeable.
I went with what Ford recommends. As lomg as I'm under warranty, I will stick with Ford fluids for the transmission. I don't have any issues or complaints after the flush, so I don't see a reason to use anything else.
