Anybody have this problem? I took a sledding trip towing a trailer with cargo that weighs a total of about 3500lbs. We never took the time to weigh it to figure out tongue load but put alot in the trailer. Coming back the roof was full of snow and probably weighed it down more and had the back end riding on the bump stops most of the way then we transferred some weight to the back and dump the snow which helped.

I got underneath today and everything looks fine. About the only thing I saw was with suspension loaded like that, the output shaft was riding about 1-1/2" deeper in the trans. Could that have anything to do with the smell? Or maybe it was just the tires even though it was cold all the way.

Rubber smell ?

Every time I take an extended trip of 30 min or so , my interior has that nasty rubber smell . I cant seem to figure it out either ??? Maybe someone on this forum can chime in ? Tires , rubber mats , plastics releasing gases ???? After it sits for a day or so it seems to go away until the next drive. .:Pshyco::Pshyco:

Around town it never happens but when I jump on the highway the other day I got the strongest rubber smell that would not go away for several miles.

I noticed on my 2014 on the lift the other day there is a large sticker on one of the exhaust components near the transfer case. I thought to myself that would most likely produce a melting odder especially when towing.

Speaking of smells, finally gotten some miles (bout 450) and started to open her up a bit. Had a buddy driving behind me and said he noticed a odor like "bad eggs" (thinking maybe un burnt fuel??) when I gave her a good amount of pedal. I have not smelled anything besides the typical new car smells so I'm wondering if he was just messing with me, but wondering if any one else has had that experience.

That smell is sulfur. Your cats dumped, perfectly normal.
