My hood mount claws hold VisionX HIDs and I get zero noise. My friend runs with D2's on his hood and he's never said anything about noise.

I am curious how the low profile of the baja onyx would do for wind noise compared to the rigid

Would probably would not matter. It is the space between the light and the truck making the noise.

Joe is absolutely correct from what I've experienced. During a recent blizzard, I was driving through it for 3 hrs. Two inches of ice was built up over my entire front end and my 50" light bar. The space between the 50" and my roof was sealed by ice. There was no noise from the light bar until after it defrosted the next morning.

There is your solution... can you get a wind baffle to stretch across and attach at the mounts?

No wind noise from my hood mount whelens. I get more noise out if the VHF antenna than anything else

I have D2's on raptor claws, no noise worth mentioning.

Yeah, a deflector or baffle would do the trick.

Weird, I get no noise at all from my hood mounted lights. They're slightly bigger than dualies though.

I think its the metal brace that holds the light

^ stuff a rag in the hole or tie it around the mount then take it for a ride. That will tell you for sure.
