$180 for 5 tires. Worth it?

I realize this is like asking whether an ESP is worth it, but wanted to get your thought. At $350 per tire, I'm about to drop $1400 in tires, so wondering whether to make it $1580...

where are you getting them from? I always get my tires at discount and get the warranty. in my experience it has been worth it.

IMO if it were worth it, they would not offer it. Odds are you won't use it. I have yet to use road hazard on any set I have bought. It is a gamble though, in the rare occurrence that you do have a tire destroyed, you'll wish you had it. Keep in mind most road hazard plans are prorated, so the coverage decreases with every mile you put on the tires.

If you are going to be offroading a lot, then get it! If you are driving a street queen with occasional gravel road, don't bother. If you are getting top quality tires you shouldn't need a warranty for the street.

This one included free rotation but don't recall balancing. If it included balancing it'd be a deal. I'm buying from 4 Wheel Parts. They have a store near my house and can do the mounting and mid perch. Let me check what it includes. It's a street queen, so it may not be worth it...

Nope, doesn't cover balancing. $180 doesn't seem like a deal, especially when I already get free rotations for buying there. I think I'll spend the money on some nice center caps...

"If you purchased a Road Hazard Warranty, we will follow our Puncture Repair procedure to determine if your tire should be repaired, at no expense, or replaced under this coverage. While the repair cost is covered under your warranty, the charge for re-balancing that tire is not covered. Maximum reimbursement or coverage is $25.00 per tire patch.

If your tire becomes unusable due to road hazard related mishaps and cannot be repaired, we will pro-rate the adjustment based upon the remaining, unused tread on the tire. We will apply the credit towards the new purchase if below 50%. If 50% and above you will receive full credit towards the replacement tire. Then we will replace the unusable tire with a tire of same brand and tread wear (all terrain/mud terrain) of the current mark up value or sell price. We do not cover remount and balance tire fees.

Limitation of coverage: Coverage with Road Hazard Warranty extends for the full period of the mileage of the tire. This coverage is not transferable to a new owner, or if the owner mounts the tires on another vehicle. Coverage extends to such damage as un-repairable tread punctures damage from potholes, nails, glass and jagged metal which cause cuts, snags, punctures, impact breaks, bruises and rim cuts. Vandalism, theft, uneven wear or fire mishaps are not covered under this warranty."

I normally don't buy that warranty from discount tire but I did on the Raptor. I've already trashed on tire offroad. Some of the rocky roads in the desert are murder if you get any tire spin.

Read the fine print. The dealer was trying to sell me the Ford tire warranty and had the finance guy pull the contract, did not cover the tires when off-roading. Told him, no thanks!
